Anti-Wrinkle and Dermal Filler Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are a simple approach to managing facial lines by relaxing the facial muscles. The skin appears softer and smoother and the appearance of wrinkles is reduced.
Many visible signs of aging can be traced back to volume loss. As facial tissues thin out, lines become etched around the nose and mouth and cheeks can look hollow. Dermal fillers are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add volume and fullness. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to help:
- plump up thinning lips
- enhance or fill in shallow areas on the face
- decrease or remove the shadow or wrinkle under the eyes caused by the lower eyelid
- fill in or soften static wrinkles, especially on the lower face
Static wrinkles include those around the mouth and along the cheeks. These wrinkles are usually a result of a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin.

These types of lines form on the forehead as a result of regular movement of raising eyebrows.

Dermal fillers work very quickly, so you will see the benefits of your injections almost immediately.

Here are some self-care suggestions for the first few days following your cosmetic injections:
- Do not expose the skin to extremes of temperature – such as saunas or vigorous exercise
- Keep the treated skin areas clean
- Avoid touching or rubbing the treated areas – if using moisturiser or sunscreen apply gently
- Use paracetamol for pain relief if necessary

Please note – Injectable treatments take some time (up to two weeks) to integrate into your tissues and fully settle into your face. Effects may last for 3 to 12 months after treatment.

Can I have Cosmetic Injectable treatment after a vaccine?
Yes, there are no contraindications for vaccines with Cosmetic Injectable treatment
Do I need to do any preparation before my anti-wrinkle injectable treatment?
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (or any NSAID), Vitamin E or fish oil supplements for 1 week prior to treatment as these can lead to increased bruising or bleeding at injection site.
Can I touch my face after treatment?
Do NOT have any type of facial massage or place your face in a facial cradle for a massage for 24 hours following your injection. You can resume your normal skin care routine 4 hours after your treatment.
How many treatments do I need to eliminate my wrinkles?
Depending on the condition of your skin, generally 1 treatment is effective.
How long do anti-wrinkle injectables last?
3 to 4 months depending on skin condition.
How often can I have anti-wrinkle injectables?
Every 3 to 4 months
How long does an appointment last?
Appointments can last around 20 minutes.
How long do anti-wrinkle injections take to work?
Anti wrinkle injections can take up to 14 days to take effect.
What happens if I stop using anti-wrinkle injections?
Once all products have dissolved your muscles continue to work as before treatment.
Can I exercise after receiving my anti-wrinkle treatment?
Yes, light exercise is fine.
Can I drink after treatment?
Yes you may hydrate and eat after anti wrinkle injection treatment but avoid alcohol for 24 hours post treatment.
